Is a smart classroom for an Anganwadi centre just an LED TV?

The display is the easiest part to buy and the easiest part to strand. A working smart classroom needs a display sized to the measured room, a mount at a height children can use, power backup sized to a realistic session, content stored locally so it plays without a connection, content in the language children speak, and a karyakarta who has been trained on the device and the daily plan. Specify only the screen and you have bought a screen.

What display size should we put in the BoQ or tender schedule?

It should be decided from the measured room rather than fixed in advance. The furthest seating position, the wall width, the mounting height and where daylight falls on the wall all change the answer, and centres in the same block often differ. Sizes commonly considered for a single classroom sit in the 43 to 65 inch band, but we would rather survey the rooms and give you a size per centre than have a single number written into a schedule that then does not suit half the sites.

Will it work where the power supply is unreliable and there is no internet?

That is the assumption we design to. Content is held on local storage and plays offline, so a session never depends on connectivity at that moment. For power, the backup is sized against a realistic session length for that centre and stated in the specification as a duration, not as an accessory. The site readiness check records the actual supply pattern staff report at that centre before anything is dispatched.

Which languages is the content available in?

The languages required for a project are confirmed against the requested content set before the scope is signed, and written into the specification. We do not publish a blanket language list, because availability differs by content set and age band, and an inaccurate list is exactly how a centre ends up with material nobody in the room can use.

What does a smart classroom cost per Anganwadi centre?

We do not publish a figure for this configuration. Display size, backup sizing, content licence term, number of training days, wall and power condition and travel to the site each move the number enough that a published price would be misleading. Yes, where the buying department runs that route.
